During secondary school life, we learn about 3 states of matter which is SOLID, LIQUID and GASEOUS state.

Do you know that there is fourth state of matter? o.O

When solid gains energy, it will become a liquid. And when more energy is being apply, the matter will be in gaseous state. Hmmm how about, when more energy is being apply to gas?

ANSWER: If further energy is being applied to a gas, it will become plasma.

The first 3 states of matter are familiar to us on the earth but plasma makeup 99% of all the matters in universe. The sun, the star is made of plasma. Plasma is considered the UNIQUE 4th state of matter because of it properties comparing to gas (Properties of gas: compressible, particles are flow freely).

But as for plasma, it conducts electricity and also responds to magnetic fields.

So this is a rough idea on the existance of fourth state of matter. More on the particles information: http://www.ornl.gov/sci/fed/Theory/tt/ttmcp/plasma.htm

SINGAPORE uses a time zone eight hours in advance of UTC (Coordinated Universal Time; UTC+8 = GMT+8:00). Have you wonder why is GMT+8:00 and not GMT+1:00?

So how does GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) being calculated? The answer is... by using Singapore Longtitude! But... the actual GMT of Singapore is somewhere between GMT+7:00. Then where is the another +GMT1:00 came from???

Lets review the history!! =]]] In the year 1905, 31st May, our local time is GMT+6:55. During Japanese occupation of Singapore, it was GMT+9:00 (pls check japanese time if u dunno why izzit GMT+9:00).

What happen next?? After Japanese occupation, GMT was change again... and is until 1982, 1st January, GMT +8:00 is "born!" The reasons was about economic and political reasons. So in another words, we are waking up 1 hr earlier to work/sch and therefore working hours will be longer so that it can help the economic =x

Beside when does SG$1 being introduced, How about the design of the coin?

SG$1 coin inscribed with an OCTAGON which look like a BA GUA (a chinese lucky charm). What actually happen was about the construction of the MRT tunnels. The Feng Shui masters believed that through downtown Singapore would have an adverse effect. Therefore the Feng Shui masters recommand each and every of the household to display a bagua to negate the issue.

However there were many Singaporean who did not adhere to Chinese belief, so the recommandation was not a good idea and that is how SG$1 come about.
